The future of PMHNP education

Starts With You

Are you an experienced psychiatric mental health professional looking to inspire the next generation?

I am a dedicated psychiatric nurse practitioner student with a strong passion for mental health, seeking experienced preceptors to support and guide me through my educational journey.

About Me

My name is Brennan Murray—a nature enthusiast and perpetual explorer at heart. Skiing down snowy slopes, hiking through uncharted trails, and immersing myself in the beauty of new landscapes have shaped my love for world travel. This passion for connecting with diverse environments is mirrored in my love for meeting new people, a trait that led me to my career in nursing.

With over ten years of critical care experience, I’ve honed my skills and deepened my understanding of the human condition. Throughout my career, I’ve been especially drawn to psychiatric patients, a special population that challenges and inspires me to grow. Nursing, to me, is both a science and an art, beautifully summarized by Orison Swett Marden’s words: “There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow.” This philosophy guides me as I practice both nursing and psychiatry, always striving to bring light to others’ lives.

Preceptor Information

As a preceptor, you'll have the rewarding opportunity to shape the next generation of advanced practice nurses, foster leadership skills, and contribute to the growth of the nursing profession.

Walden University provides robust support to preceptors, including access to resources, clear guidance on responsibilities, and the flexibility to tailor the experience to your expertise. Additionally, your mentorship helps bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world practice, leaving a lasting impact on both the student and the healthcare community.
